The scope of works consisted of:
- Site civil construction for roads, pads dams and the site inundation bund
- Construction of the waste rock dump (WRD) and co-located tailings storage facility (TSF) to accept waste rock and tailings from the mining and processing activities.
- Conduct Mining Activities for ore and waste using traditional open pit, drill and blast, load and haul mining methods
- 24/7 site operation with the Open Pit Mining operation
- Short term mine planning
- Drill and blast design
Mining was undertaken using our fleet of Caterpillar 777G Dump Trucks and Liebherr R9200 and R9150 Excavators. Ancillary support equipment included D10/ D9/ D7 dozers, Epiroc T45 and D65 drill rigs, water trucks, graders, 30T excavator, articulated dump trucks and scrapers.
For the entirety of the project, over 10 million BCM was dug & over 5 million cubic meters were blasted.
Lucas TCS assembled a team in excess of 200 people and achieved a 97% local workforce.
