In 2021 Lucas TCS were engaged by Core Lithium for a 3 year contract to construct site infrastructure and provide full mining services for the Grants Open Pit at the Finniss Lithium Project near Darwin, Northern Territory.

The scope of works for this project included clear and grub works, topsoil management, road construction, pads, dumps, dams, bunds, tailings storage facilities and flood water controls. These site establishment works included
  • Construction of water supply pipeline route and access road between the Observation Hill Dam (OHD) Site and the Mine Site
  • Clear and grub, stockpile topsoil and subsoils from all areas
  • Construct Raw and Mine Water Dams, ROM ore pad, skyway, Waste Rock Dump, Sediment Basins
  • Construct explosives storage area including security fencing
  • Construction of access roads, haul roads, go-line, heavy equipment workshop
  • Flood diversion bund construction
  • Tailings Dam Construction (Cell 1 & 2)

In addition to the site establishment works, Lucas TCS constructed a main public road slip lane at the Grants Mine Intersection for the Finniss Lithium Mine. The slip lane is the main access point to the mine and formed a key a part of the construction of the project and associated infrastructure. Lucas TCS rapidly mobilised to site and commenced construction at the start of the wet season. We were able to deliver the project with efficiencies by capitalising on synergies with our mining services and delivering cost savings to the client.
