Galaxy Resources Lithium has engaged Lucas TCS for load and haul services for the open-pit mining of the flat-lying pegmatite ore body in March 2020 through to June 2023 at their Mt Cattlin Project in Ravensthorpe, WA. The contract commencement coincided with the Covid pandemic and strict border closures into Western Australia. We successfully navigated through this difficult period while maintaining a strong contractor client relationship.

The scope of works includes:
  • Load and haul and rehandle of over 16 million BCM of ore and waste from two large open pits
  • Waste rock stockpile management
  • Haul road construction
  • Rehabilitation and haulage of process rejects to stockpile

Mining is undertaken using hydraulic excavator and truck operations, delivering ore to the Run of Mine (ROM) stockpiles for crushing and processing in the dense medium separation (DMS) gravity recovery circuit to produce a high-quality lithium concentrate.
